I'm Devashree. Every drawing, painting or spelling mistake you see here - my doing :)

im not a trained artist, more so self-directed*.

i do have a background in design which perhaps plays a role in my approach to drawing as well.

my day job has nothing to do with furry creatures or meadows or puffins or a guy with a backpack and a missing sock <oh wait> but these creatures are definitely what make up the world in my sketchbooks.

its all influence and mimicry :

i was already attached to some work from other artists long before i realised that a person had to have made what i was looking at. Richard Scarry's 'the best word book ever' sits in my shelves, stitched, taped and glued together after being around for years and years together.

on some level, every drawing i make, is an attempt to match what i saw in that book, and some others along the way - kipper the dog, miffy and friends, Zuiyo Eizo's  animated version of 'Heidi' and a delayed discovery 'Calvin and Hobbes'.
